Teeth in a day

Teeth in a day

In certain scenarios we are able to remove a tooth or teeth, place a dental implant and also place a crown (tooth) all in the same visit.

This process is known as immediate implant placement. This concept can also be applied to a full arch of teeth, in the process known as all-on-4.

The advantages of having an implant placed immediately after having a tooth extracted are numerous. These include:

  • The ability to be able to have a tooth straight away (for most scenarios)
  • The ability to preserve the shape and structure of the soft tissues surrounding the tooth that needs to be removed.
  • Less appointment vists
  • More minimally invasive than returning in 2-3 months time to place an implant and most likely requiring a large flap to be raised and bone grafting to be done.
